Issy-les-Moulineaux, April 5, 2022 – A year after the opening of the first Business Apps School, Microsoft France, Social Builder and WebForce3 join forces for a new campaign in Nantes. Inaugurated today, in the presence of Corine de Bilbao, President of Microsoft France and Anthony Valentini, Managing Director of the CCI Nantes-St-Nazaire, the first Nantes class of the Business Apps School consists of 8 students.
“The Business Apps School addresses the emerging needs of businesses in designing, deploying and automating business applications. It is estimated that more than 500 million new applications will be created by 2023. The recruitment of qualified profiles mastering the business and technology issues has therefore become a strategic issue for companies. Says Corine de Bilbao, President of Microsoft France
The Business Apps School, an inclusive school for training in new digital professions
The Business Apps School of Nantes offers 18 months of free training for students in the profession of “Application Developer”, a course that allows to obtain a Bac + 3 RNCP title.
For example, the 8 Nantes students have undergone an intensive 6-month training and are currently following a 1-year work-study program in one of Microsoft’s six partner companies: Exakis Nelite, Expertime, Masao, Syd, Symelia and Talan.
The training focuses on two pillars, know-how and interpersonal skills:
- Acquiring technical skills to assimilate the basics of the business such as project management, business application development, database design, automation and data visualization, using “Low code / No code” for production and implementing a business application . A custom program built hand-in-hand with the WebForce3 training organization and Microsoft business experts.
- The development of relational skills and emotional intelligence. To this end, Social Builder has led student recruitment and developed training modules aimed at improving their professional attitude, be it assertiveness, leadership, emotional self-defense, active listening skills, stress management or nonviolent communication.
“We are proud to be partners of the School of Business Apps and bring our inclusion expertise to the Nantes promotion, facilitating access to jobs in tension in the digital world for profiles in retraining” comments Emmanuelle Larroque, General Delegate of Social Builder
A retraining program that takes into account the needs of the market
With Nantes, seven promotions of the Business Apps School have emerged since its launch in March 2021. The promotion welcomes a wide range of profiles and is positioned as a continuation of courses for students who already have a first background in development.
Most students follow a retraining course such as:
- Ghilain, 37 years old, After a Master’s degree in STAPS and an experience as an adapted movement teacher and sports educator, he already followed a computer project and web developer course.
- Alexandra, 47 years oldafter several years of experience as a sales consultant, she trained herself by attending coding workshops.
“We already have 6 promotions throughout France, today it is in Nantes that our professionalization and innovative program proves its effectiveness and its impact for people who are far from work. We are proud to address a dual challenge for Nantes companies: meeting their digital skills needs and their CSR obligations. The Business Apps School concretely illustrates that an inclusive approach creates a positive and lasting impact for companies and society.” says Alain Assouline, president of WebForce3.
This course is designed to address a need that has arisen greatly during the COVID19 pandemic. A large number of companies are forced to adapt their internal processes and are calling on members of their IT and business teams to jointly develop application solutions that need to be deployed urgently.
A response to the crisis, made possible by the development of ‘low code’ applications, a technology that offers the advantage of speed and agility and which is at the heart of his business orientation training.
“After hosting the Microsoft Experiences Lab, we are excited to see the establishment of the Business Apps School in Nantes. By addressing people in particular in professional retraining, this new school will make it possible to turn digital into a real lever for inclusion. At a time when companies in the region are facing recruitment challenges, this highly operational training takes on its full meaning.”, explains Yann Trichard, President of the CCI Nantes St-Nazaire
